How to make ICONs??(ico)?

i%26#039;m a graphic designer and i want to make my own folder icons, favicons, ico files ect..., but i find that none of the adobe products allow you to save icon files.

so i got a plugin and its does the trick for xp or small icons,

(even though the image is at 256x256 px) if you enlarge the icon it will stay about 32x32 (or normal/classic icon size) with a big box

i understand that VISTA icons uses png Compression ico files,

but i guess you would still need to create the others sizes

so that they will scale when you change view them extra large

so i guess i can go ahead and make all the possible sizes but how would i combined them?

so how can i make vista png icons that will allow you to scale from tiny(favicon size) to super large ones

i find it extremely stupid how there is now way to do this with industry standard software.|||What I do to make the ico files is first to make the different icon sizes in photoshop and just copy and paste using this program http://icofx.ro/ which let%26#039;s you save the different icon sizes and combine them into the .ico file.|||Photoshop is the standard. You need a plugging to save documents in ico format in Photoshop.

You can download a free plugging at:

The standard icon editor in Linux is Gimp and you just have to download in png format.

For standard icon size, check on
